Starting on Tuesday 25 July at 8pm this new show looks set to inspire wanna be Crafters and gives a selection of UK Craft makers a platform to show the passion and skill needed to run a Craft practice.
The Bristol Artisan is the newest addition to a portfolio of successful events organised by Designers/Makers in collaboration with cultural venues. This two day weekend selling event is highly consumer oriented and offers visitors the opportunity to meet the designers and view, buy or commission products from over 40 Designer Makers. Join us to celebrate 50 years of the shift dress. With Arts Council England funding, nine textile artists/designers, collectively known as Seam collective, are creatively exploring their craft to showcase contemporary textile design with nine shift dresses.
Visitors can take part by sending in a photograph of their favourite shift dress and make their own mark in the gallery by hand embroidering graffiti on our blank shift dress during the exhibition.
